Other Estate Services We Offer
Revision of Existing Estate Plan
Standalone service
The Revision of Existing Estate Plan option applies when a client already has a completed estate plan — either prepared by Speedwell Law or another firm — and now wishes to make substantive updates or structural changes.
Incapacity Planning Documents Only
Standalone service
The Standalone Incapacity Planning Documents option is for clients who:
- Are not yet ready to complete a full estate plan, or
- Already have an existing estate plan but need to update or refresh their incapacity documents.
This option ensures that a client’s trusted decision-makers have current, valid authority to act in financial and medical matters, even if their broader estate planning documents remain unchanged.
Deed Representation
Stand Alone Service
These are standalone real-estate services offered outside of a full estate-planning engagement. Please note: we do not handle real estate closings.
They’re typically used when a client wants to transfer property efficiently without creating or modifying a trust, or when an estate or trust needs to convey property after death. Deed preparations are also often prepared as part of a full estate planning package, see more information below.
Core Service Feature Enhancements
Enhanced Creditor Protections
Adds specialized trust provisions that help protect your beneficiaries from divorcing spouses, lawsuits, creditors, or incapacity. Gives your trustee the flexibility to safeguard inheritances when life takes an unexpected turn.
Incapacity Planning Documents
Provides the essential legal documents that authorize trusted individuals to act for you if you become incapacitated. Includes a Financial Power of Attorney, Advance Medical Directive, HIPAA Authorization, and Burial Power of Attorney — ensuring your financial and medical decisions are handled exactly as you wish.
Blended Family Enhancement
For families where one or both spouses have children from prior relationships, or where inheritance goals differ between spouses. Designing a blended-family plan is like crafting two estate plans in one — each spouse’s wishes must be carefully integrated to avoid conflict.
Instead of doubling your planning cost, we offer this enhancement for a modest fee to cover the additional design and drafting required, creating a cohesive plan that protects everyone’s interests.

Real Estate Solutions
Virginia Deed Preparation Services
Speedwell Law prepares and records Virginia property deeds to properly align ownership with your estate plan. Premium tier representation includes up to three Virginia deeds. Ensures your real estate avoids probate delays and maintains clear title.
Out-of-State Deed Coordination
Speedwell Law coordinates deed preparation for properties outside Virginia through trusted external vendors. We handle all coordination to ensure your estate plan is completed in one process, and all your real property is properly integrated into your estate plan.
Transfer-on-Death (TOD) Deed
A Transfer-on-Death deed creates a simple way to pass a specific property directly to a named beneficiary outside probate. Ideal for will-based plans or when a particular property should go to a particular individual.
Deed of Distribution
Prepares the legal documentation needed to transfer real property from an estate or trust to beneficiaries during administration, ensuring clean title and a smooth closing of the estate.
Business Assignments
Speedwell Law transfers ownership of closely held business interests into your trust or estate plan, ensuring proper continuity and avoiding disruption in ownership or operations.
Special Circumstances & Accessibility Services
Rush Services
For urgent matters (requiring completion in less than six to eight weeks) due to illness or other pressing needs. Rush requests are reviewed for approval based on attorney availability.

Includes professional interpreter services and certified translation of key estate planning documents, so you and your family can review and sign with total confidence.
Courtesy Adjustments & Payment Options
Flexibility is part of our process. Your payment options depend on your chosen attorney tier, allowing you to move forward at a pace that fits your needs.
Courtesy Adjustment – Design Meeting Payment
Available with Senior Associate representation or Fresh Face representation. Payment may be made at the conclusion of your Design Meeting once your plan structure is finalized.
Courtesy Extension – Payment Plan (3 Installments)
Available only with Fresh Face representation. Allows payment over three equal monthly installments — begin your plan now, pay as you go.
Military, Public School Teacher, and First Responder Courtesy Reduction
Active and retired military, public school teachers, and first responders (police, firefighters, EMTs, etc.) receive a $100 courtesy discount as a thank-you for their service.
Why Clients Choose Speedwell Law
The Speedwell Law Three-Meeting Estate Planning Process
We’ve designed a streamlined, attorney-guided process that makes estate planning efficient, collaborative, and crystal clear — from our first conversation to your signing ceremony.

1. Design Meeting
Meet with your attorney (via Zoom or in person) to discuss your goals, family dynamics, assets, and priorities. Together, we’ll design the framework of your estate plan — whether will-based or trust-based — and make key decisions about who will serve as your fiduciaries.
By the end of this meeting, you’ll know exactly how your plan will work and what it will cost.
2. Document Tour
Once your plan is drafted, your attorney will walk you through every document — explaining what each provision means and answering all your questions.
This meeting ensures you feel completely confident that your plan reflects your wishes before you sign.
3. Signing Ceremony
Your final meeting takes place either in our office or, if needed, at your bedside. We provide witnesses, a notary, and full execution guidance to make everything official.
You’ll leave with your estate plan legally executed, organized, and ready for the future.
