ESTATE LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

I’m looking for a killer litigator.

Someone who’s sharp like a tack, cool under pressure, and gets a thrill from turning chaos into clarity.

Speedwell Law is seeking an Estate Litigation Associate—an attorney who loves the courtroom, the chess match, and the craft of persuasion. You’ve got that mix of empathy and edge, patience and punch. You can explain “undue influence” like a bedtime story and make it sting in cross-examination.

What I am looking for in a candidate

  • I want a lawyer with sharp wits and long deadlines.
  • Someone who can spot issues like a hawk and argue them like a poet.
  • Someone who knows when to settle, but loves to win.
  • Someone with a steady hand for grieving families and a killer instinct for truth.
  • Someone who writes motions so clean they sparkle, and keeps calm when the file is three thousand pages and opposing counsel is on their third latte.

You’ll represent clients in estate, trust, and fiduciary disputes—from contested wills to misbehaving executors. You’ll draft pleadings, briefs, and correspondence that make people say “whoa.” You’ll conduct depositions, hearings, and settlement conferences with confidence and professionalism. You’ll also work closely with our estate planning and administration teams to catch disputes before they ignite.

If you’re admitted (or pending) with the Virginia Bar, have exceptional writing and advocacy skills, and can balance compassion with candor, we should talk. You should believe that justice and kindness aren’t opposites—they’re strategy partners.

Speedwell Law is a fast-growing firm with a focused mission: to deliver top boutique-quality estate services in our market. We offer predictable hours, mentorship, and meaningful work that doesn’t consume your life. We believe in warmth, responsiveness, and simple solutions to complex problems. We’re growing fast—and we want you to grow with us.

To Apply:

Email your resume and cover letter to Adriane Anderson, Office Manager, at [email protected]. In your cover letter, tell us which of our Core Values resonates most with you and why, and include your favorite flavor of ice cream with one sentence why. No need to summarize your resume—we’ll get to that in your interview.
